Solana Trading Bot Setup Copy a Top Fomo Whale in 6 Steps With Banana Gun, Exit Included

To set up a Solana trading bot that copies a top Fomo whale, create and fund a wallet in Banana Gun, find the whale’s address with Fomo Wallet Finder, check its last 30 days, create the copy trade, set your filters, and set your exit. The copy trade itself runs in Telegram, with your own size on each trade.

Fomo, a self-custodial social trading app, shows every trader’s followers, trade count and PnL, but it does not show the wallet address. That gap is why you need a lookup step before any copy trade.

The figures below come in two kinds. Fomo profile totals are all-time, read on 30 September 2026. GMGN windows were pulled on 8 October 2026.

Step 1: create a wallet in the Telegram trading bot and fund it

Open the Telegram trading bot, tap Wallet Setup, then Create Wallet, and give it a name. The private key appears once. Save it right then, because Banana Gun cannot show it again.

Already hold SOL in Phantom or Solflare? Choose Import Wallet and paste that private key instead.

Type /wallets to see your public key, then send SOL to it from Phantom or an exchange. The docs ask for at least 0.1 SOL, and say to keep at least 0.05 SOL, because “Insufficient Funds” is the error you get without it.

Step 2: find a Fomo whale’s wallet address

Fomo does not show wallet addresses, so go to fomowalletfinder.com. Paste a fomo.family profile link, a username or an @handle. It returns the trader’s verified Solana and EVM addresses, plus links to check them on GMGN, Nansen and Cielo.

The tool is free, needs no signup and no wallet connection. New lookups are limited to 2 a day, while traders already indexed are unlimited.

Want the full walkthrough of the copy menu first? Banana Gun’s guide on how to copy trade on Solana covers it.

For this example, take frank (@frankdegods). His Solana address is 498g1rVnFcnjBjpfw1xyqA1WvgQXUU8RWuELjxkjAayQ. On Fomo, read on 30 September 2026, he shows 280K followers, 7.3K trades and $3.5M all-time PnL.

Step 3: is the whale still winning?

An all-time total says little about this month, so paste the Solana address into gmgn.ai and read the 30-day window.

On 8 October 2026, GMGN showed frank at +$863,301 realized over 30 days, a 16.6% return, with 702 buys and 736 sells. His last 7 days were +$291,059.

Compare point farm capital (@pointfarmcap), address Beqv6dzTcjV2eodo8RRXCiCcnSYrS1vkQKhfqwHXqeit. Its Fomo profile shows $10M all-time PnL (30 September 2026). GMGN showed -$303,240 over the same 30 days, from 21,179 buys and 4,580 sells.

A wallet placing 21,179 buys in a month is a pace no copy setup of yours can follow. Copy the one whose recent numbers are green and whose trade count you can afford.

Step 4: create the copy trade

Send /copytrade or tap Copy Trading in the start menu. Choose New Copy Trade and paste the whale’s address. Add a description, such as “frank”, so you recognize it later.

Select the wallets that should do the copying, then flip the toggle from Inactive to Active. The Active time setting decides how long the copy runs, for example 8 hours.

Nothing fires until the toggle is on, so set steps 5 and 6 before you activate.

Step 5: set the filters

Open the settings and set Buy Fixed to 0.5 SOL. You then buy 0.5 SOL every time, whatever size the whale uses.

Set Max Market Cap to $200K. A buy at $600K does not copy. The ceiling also skips the whale’s larger-cap trades, including the ones that win.

Turn on Buy Only Once, which blocks a token for 7 days after your first buy. Add a Tax Limit to skip taxed tokens.

Set a Spending Limit to cap the total for that wallet. Trades above it fail, which is the point.

The docs also warn that some target wallets buy pump-and-dumps and use copiers as exit liquidity. Read the wallet’s recent trades before you trust it.

Step 6: how will you get out?

Switch Copy Sells off if you want your own rule instead of mirroring every sell. Then use Setup Limit Order from the copy trade menu.

Set Tokens to 80%, choose Take Profit, and trigger on +300% in Market Cap. That equals 4x. On a 0.5 SOL buy, the sale returns about 1.6 SOL before fees and slippage, and about 0.4 SOL stays in the position at that moment.

For the remainder, the same menu in the Telegram trading bot offers Trailing Stop Loss, which raises the trigger as the price makes new highs.

A side-by-side look at take-profit, stop loss and trailing stops compares Banana Gun with two web terminals.

The 4x is a setting you choose, not a result you should expect. A take-profit that never triggers never sells, and Stop Loss is the other choice in that menu, so decide which risk you are covering.

Fills also land after the whale. Every copy executes once the copied trade is on-chain, so on a fast move your price is worse, and it gets worse the more people copy the same wallet.

TheSolstice shows how a wallet’s form can flip. GMGN had it at +$195,722 over 30 days on 8 October 2026, then -$43,525 over the last 7.

Pause with Inactive when a wallet turns, and check the 7-day number again before you reactivate.
