DUBAI SANS Institute, a leader in Cybersecurity training and certification, will be in Dubai in November to host its biggest ever Gulf Region event. The event will hold for two weeks from November 16 – 28, 2019. During this period, ten critical information security training courses will be taught by SANS' technically skilled and highly qualified instructors.

The entire Gulf Region has become progressively digitalized within the past 5-10 years. The Gulf region has recently become a major target of both nation-state hacktivists and Cybercriminals. This is because of its geopolitical and strategic relevance to the world arena.

More About The Gulf Region Event

The SANS two week November Gulf region event will supply security experts in the GCC with the in-depth technical skills and know-how. They will need this knowledge to stay ahead of the Cybercriminals of our time and to protect various organizations in the region.

The Courses that will be taught will cover areas like incident response, digital forensics, threat hunting, reverse engineering, hacker and network tools, and forensics. It will also include a large variety of purple, red, and blue team skills. Participants will have the benefit of attending two DFIR NetWars tournaments at the event, which is free because it comes with any 4-6-day course registration. NetWars is a unique tool. DFIR NetWars Tournament assists establishments in identifying areas that their response teams might need more technical knowledge.

The course was tailored for incident responders, security engineers, forensic investigators, and IT administrators. The skill acquired will provide more knowledge for the examination of the malicious programs that have been attacking Windows systems. A vital part of the training is the lab time showcasing real-world malware samples. This will allow attendees to experience first-hand workshop exercises, which will include a pre-built Linux and Windows virtual machines that contain tools for interacting with and examining malware.

Another popular course that will be taught at the Gulf Region event is SEC599: Defeating Advanced Adversaries; Kill Chain Defenses and purple team tactics. It will be taught by both Erik van Buggenhout and Michel Coene. It explains the skills required to defeat advanced attackers, kill chain defenses, and purple team tactics. A strategy that only prevents attacks is no longer enough to protect organizations from cyber attacks. So, the course has been put up to introduce security controls, which is targeted at detecting, responding to, and stopping Cyber attackers.

SANS instructor and Head of Penetration Testing & Incident Handling at Net security, a Norwegian company, Chris Dale, will also be teaching at the Dubai event. At the November event, Chris will be teaching SEC504: Hacker Tools, Incident Handling, Techniques, and Exploits.
